Tell us a bit about yourself. How did you begin blogging? utah_erin

I started blogging a little over a year ago. I was looking for something fun and interesting to do with my spare time, and since I have loved fashion ever since I was a child, I thought it would be a great opportunity for me to start a fashion blog. I have loved all of the connections and blogging friends I have made, and can’t wait to see what the future holds.

Describe your style in 3 words.

Trendy, Bright & Girly

Where do you get your fashion inspiration?

I look to a lot of other blogs to get inspiration. I love seeing other girls who are my age, with similar budgets and see what kind of fabulous outfits they can put together! I also put a lot of trust in my personal style sense. Sometimes I wear things that are pretty trendy, and I think as long as you have confidence, you can pull off anything!

What is your favorite thing about living in Utah?

I love the mountains! Its not until I go other places, that I realize their true beauty. My other favorite thing is that we are a state that really gets to experience all four seasons. I love that I can soak up the sun in the summer and enjoy the ski slopes in the winter. We have it all!

Do you notice any regional trends that may not be as prevalent in other areas?

I think that one trend that tends to be more prevalent in Utah is modest clothing. Due to its religious roots, you will see a lot of very fashionable woman who also cover up quite more than other regions. Although I am not of this faith, I think it is fun to see many Utah bloggers show how you can be modest, yet still very fashionable and trendy with your clothing!

What is your favorite local attraction?

I think my favorite attraction of Utah is Park City! I grew up very close to this area, and I love going up there to ski, to stroll down the quaint Main Street, and to experience the Sundance film festival that comes every January.

Main Street lights up at night.

What is one of the major trends you see getting popular in the new year?

I think the retro, “Great Gatsby inspired” ensembles are going to continue to be very big this upcoming year. I absolutely love fur, sparkles, big bling, and fun retro up-dos, so I can’t wait to keep this trend going into the end of winter and spring!

What is the hottest hue of the season and what are you doing with it?

Ever since Pantone released their color of the year, Radiant Orchid, I have been obsessed with this color! I love wearing all the different hues of this color, everything from a deep magenta to a light purple blush color. Even if you don’t have a lot of clothes in this color, you can add pops of this through your jewelry, with your shoes, or even on your nails!

What is at the top of your holiday wishlist?

Since the holidays are over, I am cheating a little with this question, but the piece I was craving the most this year was the quilted black Burberry Brit coat! So I definitely did a little happy dance when I opened up that package under the tree this year. 🙂

What is the most important thing you look for in a piece of jewelry?

I think you need to look for classic pieces with quality craftsmanship! It is better to invest in timeless pieces that you can wear for years to come.

What is your favorite piece from right now?

My favorite piece on Eve’s Addiction right now is the classic pearl chain necklace. If you have seen my blog, you will notice that I wear a dainty pearl in almost every single post. I think it is the perfect finishing touch to every outfit.

We’re definitely looking forward to seeing how Erin styles 2014! Be sure to keep up to date with The Fashion Canvas by following Erin on Twitter and Instagram.
