Since the People’s Choice Awards kicked off the 2014 awards season last week, red carpets have been sprawled out and laced with the hottest celebrity styles. This year’s Golden Globes Awards, held this past Sunday, saw its fair share of fabulous on the red carpet! Stars like Amy Adams and Lupita Nyong’o made a splash in vibrant red gowns, one of the 2014 red carpet color trends most talked about at this year’s Globes. We spotlighted a few other red carpet trends, and of course we’ve got the jewelry look for less!
What’s black and white and red all over? The red carpet at the 2014 Golden Globes, apparently. Stars like Julia Roberts, Heidi Klum, Jennifer Lawrence and more sported all black-and-white numbers with bold black and white jewelry. A lot of critics had questions about Jennifer Lawrence’s simple white and black dress, some imitating it by belting a white bed sheet with black electrical tape. The parody is hilarious, but we don’t think J-Law’s dress deserves all the slack!
Sparkling studs were another trend that filled the Golden Globes red carpet. Mila Kunis made her smoky eye look pop even more with emerald studs, while Modern Family’s Sarah Hyland opted for classy pearl studs shown off by a braided updo. Lupita Nyong’o was at the top of the best dressed list in a bright red Ralph Lauren sleeved gown and simple diamond stud earrings.
Game of Thrones star Emelia Clarke and Golden Globes co-host Amy Poehler both accented their sophisticated dresses with stacked bangle bracelets.
Other red carpet stars opted for bold and beautiful accessories, like Sofia Vergara who accessorized her black dress with a bold turquose floral bib, and Jessica Chastain who wore a chunky diamond necklace.
What was your favorite Golden Globes red carpet look? What do you think the major trends will be at the upcoming Critics’ Choice and Screen Actors’ Guild awards?
