Welcome to the EvesAddiction.com style tour of America! We’re taking you on a virtual road trip through each of the 50 states, talking to fashion bloggers along the way about regional style, trends, and of course jewelry! We’re kicking off this interview series at the top of the alphabet and the southern end of the country. We chatted with Alabama style blogger Megan Proctor of Stilettos & Sass about southern living and style. Read on for the whole scoop!
Describe your style in 3 words.
Classic, functional and feminine.
How did you begin blogging?
I started blogging back in 2009 as a creative outlet to share my personal style, beauty obsessions, and home decor finds. I truly enjoy blogging and reading my favorite blogs every day.
Where do you get your style inspiration?
I love to read fashion magazines and blogs, so my personal style is directly inspired by what I see. I also scour sites like Pinterest and Chictopia for style inspiration.
What do you like best about Alabama?
SEC College Football of course! Also, Alabama’s rich history, culture and southern hospitality are really hard to match anywhere else.
You have some delicious looking recipe posts! What’s one of your favorite southern recipes?
Thanks! I love to cook and try new recipes. One of my favorite southern recipes is for a tasty pecan pie. My husband has a major sweet tooth and pecan pie is always on the menu around the holidays.
Are there any important regional trends near you that aren’t seen as much throughout the rest of the country?
What’s one of the hottest upcoming fall styles?
One of the hottest upcoming trends for Fall this year focuses on high-impact details. Standout embellishments and finishes will be sure to get you noticed. Crystals, rhinestones, fur and feathers are all details that will be incorporated in my closet for Fall 2013.
What is the most important thing you look for in a piece of jewelry?
I look for quality in a piece jewelry. I see jewelry as an investment in my personal style and won’t splurge on a piece of jewelry unless it’s made well.
You have a lot of great organization tips on your blog. What’s your best jewelry organization tip?
Try to finds items around your house that can be used to store and display your jewelry. You can use an ice cube tray to store and separate rings and earrings. A pretty vintage 2-tier cupcake stand can be used to display and organize your bracelets and cocktail rings.
What is your favorite item from EvesAddiction.com?
I love the Medium Gold Vermeil Monogram Necklace. It is perfect for every occasion!
A big thanks to Megan for being the first pit spot on our Sparkling Across America tour! Keep up with Stilettos & Sass on Facebook as well as the blog!
