A girl’s Quinceañera is a very important celebration in her young life. Sometimes called Fiesta de Quince Años, Fiesta de Quinceañera,Quince Años, and Quince, the celebration marks a girl’s fifteenth birthday in parts of Latin America. This tradition has continued all over the world, in many Latin communities. The celebration is unlike any other birthday because it signifies the move from child years to womanhood.
The event is celebrated with a mass and then either a destination journey or a large party, surrounding the birthday girl with loving friends and family. Most girls, now a days, opt for the party rather than the destination. At the party the girl wears an extravagant dress with a tiara. To compliment her dress, the birthday girl wears a lot of very flashy jewelry plastered in cubic zirconias and diamonds for a really glamorous look. In addition to the birthday girl herself wearing a lot of dazzling jewelry, so does her Court of Honor, made up of damas and chambelanes, or her maids of honor and chamberlains.
